Newly hired full-time employees are benefit eligible the 1st of the month following their date of hire. This is the time you will make your new hire benefit elections for the plan year.
Open Enrollment is the annual time of year when you can update or change benefit elections and add/remove dependents. Outside of these enrollment windows, benefit changes can only be made with a qualifying life event.
